Have been working on a new kinetic mechanism...entirely powered by gears and constant torque spring "motors."
Balance is a surprisingly delicate issue...took a while to achieve...

Exploring and testing designs for variability and "rotational randomness"
I like the direction this is going in...

This piece is derived from a French Pin Escapement Design dating back to 1735 or so...I am still working on it...and will add a second wheel...I am amazed at what a big difference small adjustments in weight, the length of the drive strings, and even the number of teeth/circumference of the gearing has on the speed of rotation as well as the duration of rotation...so much yet to learn!!

Spent the day working on the mechanics of what I call offset rotations...  tweaking and patiently adjusting...you can see the result here... 

Today's project... working on Marilyn...still have more than my share of experimentation ahead of me...still, nothing ventured...nothing gained...!!
